Children’s Writer / Educator / Naturalist
Welcome!
I’m a children’s book writer of picture books through young adult.
This website is curated around my passions—children’s books and reading, flowers and native plant gardening, and keeping a sense of wonder for the natural world by learning and teaching.

(Picture above) When I went on a trip to London with my family, the Tower of London moat was transformed into an exhibit called Superbloom! The moat was filled with wildflowers, grown from 20 million seeds. Now it has become a permanent fixture of the Tower of London to support pollinators.
Children’s books and teaching are two of my passions. In my lesson plans, I aim to provide free content that can be used in many settings: preschool, elementary school, homeschool, STEM lesson planning, social-emotional activities, nature education and for parents at home.
As a busy parent myself, I try to make it easy for parents to find great book recommendations and fun activities. Reading aloud a picture book that kids connect with is something so valuable—seeing that laughter or that aha moment written on their faces—books are magic! I have many favorites!
For teachers, each lesson plan has multiple book recommendations appropriate for that age group, free related content pages and handouts, and a free pdf to download. I include activities for kids that will engage them in exploring and thinking about STEM and science through outdoor nature activities and things you can do inside the classroom or home. I also occasionally throw in some social-emotional lesson plans too.

Gardening to make habitat for pollinators and animals is another passion of mine. By planting native plants that are from the area where you live, you can help bees, butterflies, birds and many more creatures have a place to forage and survive. Seeing a bee or butterfly visit a flower that you planted is so rewarding to me. Explore my tips for creating a wildlife habitat of your own by gardening with native plants.
